Unless someone like Turner refuses to give Jones most if not all he wants, JJ will be announced today through leaks and officially tomorrow. If SMU refuses then I think SMU will have lost all credibility of wanting to return to big time football. These guy's, SO, Turner and SMU are up to their eyeballs now. The way I see it, there is no turning back. You have your guy, he is on campus, he's ready to go if SMU makes some changes in order to win. Talk about sour grapes if this falls through at this point. They will do what has to be done. Way too much on the line.

If Turner blows up this deal I suspect that SO will be the next to leave.

Jones wouldn't have resigned from his previous position if all the details weren't worked out to his satisfaction (at least well enough to get him in the door.) That is, of course, unless he wanted out so badly that he is willing to quit coaching altogether. I don't see that happening.
