I am so sick of this BS. Are our standards any higher than Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Duke? Those schools all are way better academically and still have top athletic programs. Our standards should be no higher than those schools period.

Tell him I'll volunteer to bail all SMU football players out of jail.

When you have this discussion 'another day' please include UC-Berkeley as an example of a school that lowered their admission standards to become relevant in the PAC-10.
UC-Berkeley, Stanford and UCLA are head-and-shoulders above SMU academically.
USC is probably better as well.

I forgot USC too. They are pretty good in football.

Of course they're better than SMU academically, they have nearly double our percentage of Asians!
