It's official: June Jones to SMU

Agent Leigh Steinberg has confirmed it. A full story will be up on our site shortly.

The agreement is for five seasons at just under $2 million a year. The deal hasn't been signed yet, but will be soon.

Jones and Steinberg called David McClain, president of the University of Hawaii system, this morning to tell him of the decision.

After a night of uncertainty, Jones was sure of his decision this morning.

A lot of coaches don't sign their deal until later. Billy Gillespie hasn't signed his with Ky and is there. Tubby Smith just signed his with Minnesota, about 8 months after he agreed to come up there.

Yeah, like Mike Price and the Alabama job (to his own detriment).

And once, Jimmye Layc0ck of W&M "accepted" the Boston College job without signing, only to call a press conference later and flip flop. Just throwing that in there as a possibility, cause I feel like I should.
