Bartel is showing the maturity needed to be a team leader! We're gonna rock this year!

(But I sure wouldn't have wanted to have been him when his Mom found out he wasn't coming to Hawaii after she had already gotten there! Ouch!)

That story in the Dallas Morning News does sound like Bartel is ready to take this offense to the proverbial "next level."

Baseball coaches talk about someone being a pitcher, versus being a "thrower." I think last year Bartel was a tall kid who could throw it a long way. Now, with the lumps he took last year, the maturity he gained, the progress he made in the spring, and with the summer working with his teammates under his belt, he's gone from being a thrower to being a legitimate quarterback.

Can't wait for the season!

Did you notice in that story that Tate Wallis is now 6'3" and 235?
Big safety or linebacker? He certainly has the temperment for either one.
