While the big bang is gone here in Dallas and the rest of the mainland. Hawaii radio/television/press are ALL still talking about June.

This is what I have mentioned in other posts. UH fans literally worshipped this guy. GREAT FANS!!!!

Um, what other issues would you think would have captured Hawai'i sports fans' attention so quickly? Particularly given the follow-up news of their AD's ouster (HUGE to them, not so much to anyone else).

Let's support him and deserve his commitment to SMU!

Another difference is that Hawaii is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. Dallas? Not so much.

Not just sports stations. I am talking about EVERY media outlet that is in Hawaii. It is really impressive. I would LOVE to have even 1/10 of that kind of coverage on SMU.

We've got to show our support - we don't want him to regret his decision about coming here. I talked to some students about this today, and they're a bit skeptical about all the excitement and they're saying they're waiting to see if we win the first game to decide if they're going to get excited about this. Frankly, I don't blame them. They haven't ever had a team that's been good enough to get behind. They start showing some enthusiasm and then the team just loses, over and over and over again. It's a shame they don't have the memories of any winning season. For the time being, the excitement and enthusiasm has got to come from the alumni (and the Mustang Band, naturally).

JJ was to Hawaii as Tom Landry was to Dallas. Can you imagine if Landry ever left for any other team for money/discontent with team?

The student body is key. They need to run to Ford Stadium before Kick-off and stay there to enjoy the Run and Shoot!

Get some cheerleaders and pom squad girls who look like this and that should help a lot.

Whoa, that must have been a BIG game at Ford when this picture was taken. Just look at the TENS of fans heading in for the big matchup!

I really hope we can average above 20k next season.

TENS?... you should learn to count. Nothing like an SMU education

it's funny how people's personality's come out
on message boards

take for example Duke Blue Blood

great guy...but he seems to enjoy talking about "how
great everywhere else is".

even look at his name on an SMU message board....it's
about somewhere else

last night he posts about how the SMU new coach is really
deep down a Hawaii guy.... implying June Jones prefers
somehere else to Dallas/SMU

of course what he fails to mention is most coaches are not
coaching at their alma mater and so most coaches are
not where their roots are......it's common place not just at
SMU

i believe Duke Blue Blood was one of the posters
claiming weeks ago "why would June Jones leave Hawaii
for Dallas/SMU"?.....like Dallas/SMU is such a "2nd fiddle"
destination.

now he is on here today talking about how great the press
coverage is somewhere else

i wonder if Duke Blue Blood is in Chicago if he speaks
about how great it is in Dallas?

ya know greener pasture syndrome?

it's weird....I am right where I want to be
i live in the city i want to live in
i follow the team i want to follow
i dont want to be somewhere else
if i did want to be somewhere else....I'd be there!
not here on an SMU board talking about how
great it is somewhere else!
