All Pony Fans Hail Gerald Ford
Posted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:23 pmI am trying to contain my absolute giddiness about the hiring of June Jones not because he is a fantastic coach but because:
1. SMU finally has a Board that understands the impact of a successful football program on student life, giving, and esteem of a University.
2. SMU has members of that Board (and others) that are willing to dig deep into their pockets to make this school something we all can be proud of.
Because of this committment, SMU will begin to develop a positive image with prospective students (not the sad sack image we currently sport). AS A RESULT, SMU will continue to move up the ranks of national universities.
This highly visable committment will result in many, many more positive moments for SMU.
