Who is being redshirted?

I became aware yesterday that at least one of our higher ranked recruits is not being redshirted. Does anyone have a list of the freshmen that will not be redshirted? I'm a little disturbed by this discovery, but at the same time excited.

My understanding is that most coaches would like to redshirt as many freshmen as possible, to let them grow and mature for a year, but while we have a lot of young players, we're not deep enough to redshirt every one of them. But we probably won't know the list until sometime during the season. (Keep in mind, a guy could be redshirted and then have the redshirt label removed if injuries at his position require him to play....)

Names I've heard specifically are: Massey, Boren, Peveto, Bonds, Jones. Also, I think I remember one of the receivers (can't remember which) and maybe Blake Warren as a return man.
What I don't know is whether these guys will just be on the traveling squad or actually starting and/or being subbed into games. I assume that if these guys end up on the second team, at some point or another they'll probably go in.

Unfortunately, at least one d-line guy will have to be active. Boren I think would be redshirted unless there are dire circumstances. You can't expect a guy to jump from 2A, work the O-Line, and be effective. Massey would be expected. Peveto and Warren would surprise me - why waste a redshirt when you have Comet and Jonas?
Hopefully though, only one of Bonds or Jones will not be redshirted. You like those DTs to stick around longer so they get nice and fat

.

Um, Boren went to Colleyville Heritage, which is 5A, so I am not sure what you are trying to say...

You mean Burley, right? Boren played at Colleyville Heritage, which I think is 5A. And from all the rumors going around, there's no redshirt in his near future.
Peveto is an OL, so the presence of Comet and Jonas wouldn't affect his potential redshirt status. And like Boren, he's drawn rave reviews from his teammates for his performance in summer workouts and in the weightroom.
And Coach Bennett has said Blake Warren might be in the mix this year, at least on special teams.

Don't forget that 51 freshmen number. We must redshirt a goodly number or in four years we will be short of our 85 limit.

Sorry, I mistook Boren for Burley, that is my fault

. And I was just speaking of Warren for the returns.
I just hope that we can redshirt as many line guys as possible. Whenever line players are not redshirted, it is usually more of an indication of weakness at the position, rather than the strength of the frosh. I would get more excited about a saftey or corner on D, or a RB or WR on O displacing a starter, because they can have an impact with less experience.
