Lets start a thread with the names as they come out, please add if you hear or get a reference.

Unfortunately I was not paying attention when one or two names went by over the last couple of days. 8)

Ohhh how badass would that be? Doubt we lure him away from SC unless Carroll ends up taking the Falcons job.

I really don't see McMackin getting the job at Hawaii. Although at this point its going to have to come together very fast for HU so hiring McMackin might be the best course of action. Of course given how they do things over there I'm not sure they could hire a student manager without f'ing it up.

I think Jerry's done that at every stop. He used to do that when he was with Houston, Atlanta, et al.

I don't think Hawaii will hire McMackin either. They will feel the need to make a slash to get everyone in Hawaii to take notice. The old coach at San Jose or the assistant head coach at UT are your finalists (sorry didn't feel like looking up their names)...Norm Chow makes too much money at the Titans to go.

Most of the people in Hawaii wants them to hire McMackin. Maybe that means they won't

Ramon is such an important part of the history of SMU, it would be great to see him get on the staff.

I read the other day that per Hawaii law, UH is required to post the job listing for a minimum of 10 days before they can hire anyone. That time frame doesn't work well for either of us--I don't think McMackin will come until he knows he doesn't get the head job there.

I'm obviously talking out of my [deleted] on this, but I would think they would go in another direction. Especially considering all the negative publicity they just got, I think they will want a bigger name coach. Although, does anyone know who is doing the hiring? Is it the interim AD, or are they going to hire an AD quickly and let him make the hire? That might make a BIG difference in who they go after.
