Good DMN/Kate article.

Do you think that she can do this for more than a couple of weeks? What she has done for the last few days is pretty good.

Any good reporter should be able to cover their beat FULL-TIME. She's doing what she was hired to do.

You do realize she has to cover TCU as well, right?

And she's going to Beijing to cover the Summer Olympics. Her pecentage of SMU/TCU is about 85/15 for SMU.

Oh, my heart bleeds for poor lil' ol' Kate. Give me a break. She's a sports reporter for a major metro newspaper covering her beat(s). She's doing her job!

Considering she:

Covers SMU
Covers TCU
Has the "Olympic beat"
Helped out with the Cotton Bowl
Does random crap in the NBA playoffs, etc.

Kate does a great job. Her coverage of the JuneJ process didn't include daily updates because nothing happened for what seemed like eons. But she's really, really good.

As it should be.

Actually, that SMU/TCU % seems too low. I mean its TCU? Who in Dallas really cares about TCU?

The ratio should be SMU 99% and if there is nothing happening at SMU, no olympic news to cover and all high school sports are done, she can spend the remaining 1% on TCU.

That seems just about appropriate, although it still might be a little too much TCU coverage.

Have to agree that SMU should get more DMN coverage than TCU. We get very little coverage in the FWST. I realize that we haven't been as successful as TCU, but we are actually in Dallas, and it is the hometown paper for God's sake.

Let's just say it should be somewhere between what GSP stated and what crazyhorse threw out.

You guys remember before Kate though and we had the thread counting the days between an SMU article in the DMN???

We are getting spoiled by the coverage that she is giving us, overall she does a good job.
