How much recruiting has JJ done so far?

I know it's only been a week since JJ was hired, but I was wondering if anyone knows how much recruiting he has done thus far. With his offense, I would expect us to get many good offensive players, but I hope he aggressively addresses the issues with our defensive personnel.

On another note, I'd like to give a belated congratulations to my pledge brother, Will Bonilla, for being named defensive MVP.

We weren't listed as a school of interest in the DMN's State Top 100 list in the paper this morning, but then again June hasn't had a chance to get his motor running yet. Maybe He could pick up South Oak Cliff's Kydarian Wilkins, a former Baylor commit, who had is scholarship pulled by new Baylor coach Art Briles. "Its terrible," South Oak Cliff coach Chris Gilber said. "The kid stopped looking around when he committed to Baylor. Now his world has changed sinc Baylor dropped him. "Wilkins, No. 50 on SportsDay's Area Top 100, currently has a lone offer to Texas State.

I would imagine Briles has burnt his bridges at South Oak Cliff by pulling the scholarship offer. If June is smart, he will look hard at this kid and give him a scholarship offer to build up goodwill for next year at one of the premier football schools in the area!

That information on commitments is probably before Jones even agreed with SMU.

Obviously! However, it does show the uphill climb that he has to salvage this recruiting class.

I am not worried at all about this years recruiting class. It is not like we were pulling in top 50 recruiting class under Bennett. If the so-called "model" has relaxed then we should see an immediate upgrade in talent. The fact we are allegedly getting to qb recruits to come to SMU with JJ is a good sign. It would not surprise me if a few other of his Hawaii recruits followed him. I also am sure we will get a few other recruits that were not originally looking at SMU due to JJ. Remember, JJ said in the press conference when he took the job at Hawaii he had no verbal commitments and got some of his best players after signing day.

JUCO QB Kevin Craft 6'5" 205 , who is coming here with JJ, would be a Top 60 Rivals JUCO Recruit. He just missed the Top 50 Rivals JUCO List.
