I do think that the Jedi will be able to win some recruiting battles with TCU, TT & Baylor & I almost forgot, North Texas State.
In addition to the schools named above, my hope is that we will also keep local kids from going to Tulsa. They have a very successful track record of getting kids from the metroplex that should be staying home.

Dodge's job got exponentially tougher. Speaking honestly, if both JJ and Dodge want you, I don't know why you'd choose North Texas.
How true.

lot of babble in that thread on 5A Texas Football. Fact is that Dodge has put together the best NTSU class ever. Just added Jermi Mathis that has been mentioned on this board several times. Top to Bottom its a very good class from Recruit No. 1 thru Recruit No. 20. Most of those recruits had offers from decent programs. I believe their class is ranked No. 72 right now- higher than TCU although TCU has a class half the size-but even with TCU in 3 Star players. He is going to dominate the Sun Belt and his recruiting will continue to be strong in the Metroplex. We need some assistants with immediate contacts in the Metroplex.

I can't believe that farmerfan thinks that UNT's facilities are better than SMU's and that he gets so riled up about a UNT degree not being equal to an SMU degree.

If I ever go off anywhere near what that farmerfan guy did, please delete my membership to this board, or find me at my home and beat me senseless. That guy has a one track mind about SMU. Jealous, I guess.
I have a degree from UTA and SMU, and I'd be the first to tell you that my SMU degree opened a LOT more doors for me.

Before we hired JJ. They may have a little more Metroplex competition next year.

Todd Dodge's college win loss record is horrible. His Southlake success was incredible but before Southlake his previous high school stints was not as impressive. If SMU is going to be the team it claims it will be then NT will be an afterthought.

Jones now has to tackle the challenge he has put in front of him. All we can do is go to the games, cheer, give to the Mustang Club and let Jones do his thing. I guess in about five years we'll know how good a job he did.
