What a nice change.

I was in Knoxville, Tennessee the last two days and had a nice surprise.
I usually wear an SMU ballcap and it is extremely rare for anyone to every mention SMU when I am out of the Dallas area. Well while I was in Knoxville 4 different people in completely different settings saw my cap and immediately brought SMU up to me. All the feedback was positive. Even the guy at the TSA security checkpoint at the Knoxville airport mentioned that it was great for SMU to hire June Jones. This hiring appears to really be creating some great vibes nationally for SMU!

While we're at it, a friend of mine who is a LSU grad and went to the NC called me the Wednesday after game. Instead of talking about the title, he wanted to congratulate us on hiring Jones. The NC talk came later.
Now let's get some damn football players and let's get some wins.

...happened to me as well...in the D.C. area...wearing an SMU sweatshirt...the hiring of Jones has been great pub for the University!

I got a couple of glares from two guys wearing Hawaii sweatshirts while I was in Vegas last weekend.

I think it points out that we are all excited & proud again to display our loyalities. It has been embarrassing to wear my smu gear.
Not anymore. I wear it proudly & get positive comments too.
Not one negative comment from my TCU & North Texas State friends, all positives.
