What to look for on Offense...

OFFENSIVELY:
- The WR core as a group wasn't great last year. Comet should replace Cardwell just fine. Griffin was already a starter. Will Rushbrook play better than Freeman as the third receiver? Will Taylor finally be effective?

- Kincaid is a solid back, but isn't a game breaker. Can Fitz or Massey provide that game-breaking ability for this skill position?

- The O Line could be the best the Stangs have had in years. The only weakness is LT, where it looks like Guidry, Urbanus, and Neal are locked in a three-way battle. Can the position stabilize and give SMU one of the top lines in the WAC?

- TE is a huge unknown. Nobody has seen significant playing time. If Johnson or Kennedy are good enough to unseat Hrncir, that is a major plus.

- Overall, because of QB play, the Mustangs move up from last year to being an average offense. But improvements at the TE and WR positions could bump this up to be a better than average group.

after watching the spring practices I have very little concerns about Rushbrook or even Hrncir. Rushbrook in my opinion was the MVP of the spring and was outstanding each week and Hrncir caught at least 5 passes and I don't remember him dropping any. Griffen and Taylor have never established any consistency whatsoever-Griffin has had one good game in his career against Rice when SMU was down by several TDs and Rice was playing prevent defense. In my opinion if they don't produce early SMU ought to start looking at other options.

Unfortunately, what is there to look at? Taylor hasn't done anything, Medlock moved over from Corner, Vinson hasn't done anything, and the three frosh weren't heavily recruited, they are all average or below average WAC recruits.

WR has to be a pretty major concern this year.
