I know many of you were extremely unhappy with PB's performance as head coach at SMU, but I always the guy had the team's best interest in mind and I thought he did a pretty good job with what he was given to work with. But that's just my opinion.
It surprises me that he hasn't landed another gig somewhere else. What are his leads, if any? Is anyone interviewing him? Just curious as to where his prospects lie.

Someone posted on PF.com a few days ago that said he was interviewing for the DC job at Marshall.

There wer rumors that he might go to Baylor as DC, but I haven't heard if Briles has hired anyone for that job or not. I think he's filled most of the jobs for assistants.

Marshall, eh? Man, that could come back to haunt to SMU in the future.

If it does, we obviously haven't made too much progress...

Or it might allow us to rack up 600 yards through the air when we play them.

That honeslt wouldn't surprise me, but like someone else said, it could be us just throwing for 500+ yards against them. I am still worried about our D the most though.

And well you should be. Look, our D suffered more from a talent discrepancy compared to other teams than from a coaching deficiency or lack of effort. With graduation, if nothing changes in recruiting, there's every reason to think it will even fall a little further.

Let's move forward.
All this will continue to do is bring up negative comments.

That was not a negative comment. It was a very astute appraisal of the facts as we know them.

Sorry about that jtstang.
There was a 60 second difference. I was directing my comment further up the line.
Sometime soon we need to get off PB and onto JJ.

Why? SMU fans always seem to drum up the past, why start now? It's not that I'm not excited about the current direction. I'm just curious what's to become of the old coach. What the hell is wrong with that?

Friend at work with Louisiana connections told me that Phil interviewed for DC at Louisiana-Monroe recently.
