Posted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 10:57 amBrennan weight a question: Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan surprised several NFL teams at the Monday morning weigh-in. Brennan weighed 186 pounds, down from his playing weight of 190 pounds. Brennan said he had a stomach virus last week.
"It was real disappointing for me," he said. "I got the stomach flu when I was in California, and I guess I thought I could get it all back."
Brennan has two more weigh-ins, at the National Scouting Combine and at Hawaii's Pro Day. Brennan said he would like to get between 205-210 pounds.
A Heisman Trophy finalist, Brennan broke 31 NCAA passing records, including most career touchdowns with 131.
He said he was sad to see former Hawaii coach June Jones leave for SMU, but said Jones will be great for the Mustangs.
"I think some of us kind of saw it coming," he said. "He should have had his contract long before we got to the Sugar Bowl. For him, he's got to do what's best for himself and his family. He needs a new challenge, and that's why he went to SMU."
