What's the hold up with not having a DC hired yet ?

Thoughts ? Really surprised that a hire has not been annouced yet. I can only surmise that JJ's first and possibly second and third choices have turn him down. What else could it be ? Only other thought is contract term and salary ....

There is no reason to assume anyone has turned him down. Perhaps he is still deciding. Perhaps he has his guy and just hasn't bothered to announce it yet. Perhaps he has his guy, who wants to talk it over with family before making any final decisions. Or perhaps Jones is just out there recruiting his [deleted] off.

Didn't we learn during the last Head Coaching Search to simply wait until the powers that be speak. They've proven they know what they're doing. Go drink a beer and relax. :D

That's what we ran last year, and the gate was open a lot.

We should score enough this season that a DC really isn't that necessary.

You guys will find out very soon, JJ's priority is with the offense. While at Hawaii almost 80% of the recruits were on the offensive side of the ball. Defense is not a high priority for JJ, he thinks he can just outscore anyone instead of keeping them from scoring. You may never have a true defensive coordinator while JJ is there.

Recruiting is also not one of his strong assets. He's considered a lazy recruiter and tents to burn bridges with highschools coaches in the area.

I don't even know what that means, but it sounds pretty cool.
