I think we are just about the only site in Texas that hasn't mentioned the passing of UT legend/Fan Rooster Andrews-but here is an SMU/Doak Walker angle.

A great man who truly bled orange. I can remember going down to Austin for games as a kid and always making a stop by his sporting goods store off the loop. Hook Em Rooster. Rest in Peace.

Rooster was the manager/waterboy for the hoena of that era. In his senior season Bible let him kick a few extra points. He knew how much Rooster loved the horns and by being a kicker, there were no kicking specialists then, Rooster became a Letterman for the Horns.

He was a very nice guy.
His kicking style was unique, he kicked the ball on the bounce.
