Pardon me if this article has already been posted here but it made me realize how lucky we are to have June Jones as our head coach rather than Francione. He is a very good object lesson in life. We shouldn't let ambition blind us to what is important in life.

So glad we didn't get him as well. Thank goodness SO held out for the best coach in the USA and not settling for a quick fix. We could have "saved" the recruiting season with a fast hire of Fran. But at what ultimate price? Thank you SO for having the courage to do the hard thing and get it right.

Couldn't agree more.
The people who criticized the length of SO's hiring process don't have a clue on what it takes to hire the "right person".
Good work SO!!!

After reading that, I'm hoping Fran's wife gets him into counseling. It sounds like there is a family history of depression, and based on the interview he doesn't seem to be a very happy man.

Well, I favored Rob Evans in the BB search and Fran was on my very short list for SMU. Guess my odds of succeeding Orsini when he moves on are pretty slim.

The hypocrisy in all this is that Alabama fans, who burned any and all things ‘Franchione’ for leaving after only 2 years, had ZERO qualms about hiring Nick Saban after he had been HC of the Miami Dolphins for only 2 years.
Both were considered turds for denying any interest in their new jobs until the very last moment, yet one is now a traitor, while the other is a hero.
Go Figure.

Y'all are really luck not to have ended up with Dennis as Head Coach. Not only was he a lying, dead-beat coach, but was a dead-beat dad for the first 10 years of his sons life; not the kind of 'man' you want around & influencing young adults. He has no problems with stepping all over anyone he can use to get just one more rung up that ladder of success. I wouldn't care if he cries himself to sleep every night in that trophy room of his, he deserves no less for what he's done to all those players he lied to...
Shoot, he even lied in that article just to gain some sympathy. Anyone else find it interesting that his PR man Mike Mckenzie used to write for this paper and now they come out with a woe-is-me, pity party for the liar he works for? What a couple of turds. I'm glad SMU was smart enough to see through his smoke & mirrors.

Do we let aggie visitors slide on grammar?

I had Mike Shula as our next coach. I never thought in a million years that JJ would leave Hawaii for the plains of North Texas.
I always said to let SO do his thing and play out his hand. I just never believed he would land a coach like JJ.
You trot JJ around all the coaching vacancies this year and most programs would have jumped at the chance to get him

As an ATM fan, I can honestly say that aggiebird02, you are a worthless piece of sh#t. After reading that article, thats what you come up with? Everyone on this board has shown nothing but pure class, and you (an Aggie fan to boot) are the first scumbag to pop up. I was never a fan of Fran coaching my team, but after reading this piece, life take precedence over coaching. If your family has an obvious gene which they were more open to bouts of deep depression and suicide, I hope people come on internet boards and trash you. You embarrass me...
