Navy GameThinking about taking a trip to the Navy game this year. Thought it would make for a great trip in addition to the football. Any advice on which airport to go into, where to stay etc. would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any info.
I would think that BWI would be the most reasonable airport to use. I liked Buddy's Crabs and Ribs, but I know there was a better place for Crab-Cakes, but I can't for the life of me remember it. I'll ask around. I lived down in Maryland and NOVA while I was there though, so I have no idea where to stay.

What does Blunt's Body Mass indicator have to do with anything? It's not his fault that smokin' blunts has caused him to beef up. -CoS
I believe the Mustang Club is going to put together a trip, just not sure of the agenda yet. Also, I plan on staying a few extra days to see the area. Taking the wife also requires a nice and fun place. Hope to see a lot of Mustangs at the game.
I'm planning on making the trip as well. It has been over 10 years since I've been to that area so I plan to spend a day or two sightseeing in D.C.
For previous trips to play Navy, has SMU stayed in Annapolis, Baltimore or somewhere else in Maryland?
Awesome town and plenty of hotels around. There are a couple of really cool old hotels downtown and you can literally walk to the game if you want. There's a great seafood restaurant at the end of the dock[ on the south side] with a nice upstairs patio.

I'll see ya there! Go Stangs! ![]()
In 1993 the Mustang Club/Steve Wilensky put together a wonderful trip to Navy and we flew into Baltimore.
It's been awhile, but it seems like we stayed at the Loews Annapolis Hotel. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g29494-d89319-Reviews-Loews_Annapolis_Hotel-Annapolis_Maryland.html I bet there are alot of nice new places as well. Hopefully the Mustang Club will put together another great trip in '08 to Navy that includes airfare/hotel/transportation, and tours of the Naval Academy. Here we are @ Navy with the late Bill Boggs, what a great SMU fan Bill was. ![]() (Bill we sure miss you and Dotty!) "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
Just go to the old Harbor and look for the nastiest dive you can find and eat Maryland blue crabs and drink beer. Even better go across the Bay Bridge and eat on the Island. Of course, the drive back across the bridge after a few brews is not advisable. The best thing to do, is to have a friend with a sailboat and go cruising the Chesapeake Bay. Some very fine talent in September.
