June Jones and the Militant Faculty

Postby George S. Patton » Tue Jan 29, 2008 8:31 pm

This is proof people read this board.

Last night at Ten's somebody asked June Jones about what kind of reception he has had from the faculty. The woman phrased the question in the tone that the faculty has never been one to show its support for football.

That was a proud moment.

Jones deftly answered the question that he had not seen or heard of any issues from them or whatnot. But instead that he and they were there to help shape the lives of young people -- or something like that. Brilliant answer and it got an ovation.

I wasn't there but I heard it.

If I was, I would have shouted, OPPOSE THE MILITANT FACULTY!!

Jones has the ear of a large amount of media. THe faculty is limited to tirades in the DC and faculty whine and cheese parties. Wonder which one will win the PR battle?

I heard it and she was talking about the high salary that coach Jones is getting. Don't these people realize that his salary is being totally funded by private donors so that it will not be a burden to the school. Steve O said that in the press conference. Why don't these people listen.

Why don't these people listen.

Because they have their own agenda and don't want to hear, or at least acknowledge, the truth.

They are the same people that want to send a presidential library offer away........yeah, because those offers come along for a small private school ALL the time?!?!?

IDIOTS!!

I say we have JJ....get Jerry Glanville...start winning football games....AND get the Bush library....then see how many mentions SMU gets in the national press each week!

Somebody also asked about the in and out policy and how it hurt attendance in particular the students left after half and could not come back. Jones said he didn't know anything about the policy but he knew how to fix it - win and people won't leave. He said we will win and that winning will fix our attendance issues. Another great answer.

I heard that. That's not a question for the coach. That's a question for the AD.

That would be why I have yet to receive a reply from PF.com's favorite Spanish lecturer.
