I hope so. And I hope that JJ and SO get Arkansas on the Schedule ASAP.

Not sure why you would want to play Arkansas ASAP with Bennett has the DC?? The guy is a very good DC....he's just not a HC.

They are not talking about it on the Arkanss message boards. Only DC talk I pick up there is that Tenuta is going to ND.

I'm not sure why Bennett being DC means we should schedule them either. We should schedule them because they're good, and not some pansy D-II team

Bennett withdrew from consideration for the Marshall DC job on 1/22; Johnson quit after a month at Arkansas on 1/24. Either Bennett knew something was up at Arkansas or he is real lucky.

He makes sense as a hire for Arkansas if you ask me.

i guess i just don't understand the coordinator-head coach dynamic but can someone explain to me why a fairly solid SEC program would hire a clown like Bennett who's team just had one of the worst offenses in the entire NCAA? is he suddenly going to be a great defensive mind now that he doesn't have to worry about offense? i realize he was a D coordinator at KState previously but c'mon guys...

PB could definitely be a DC in the SEC....he did it in the Big XII...I wouldn't want to play those early 2000 kansas state (whoops) teams

His defenses at K-State were top 5 in the nation three or four straight years. Just because he couldn't get it done as a HC here doesn't make him a clown. He's a good guy who put his heart into SMU...just didn't work.

First, Phil was well liked here at SMU. We wish him well in whatever he does. He tried and failed, something all of us have done in our lives. He loved his job here, but just didn't have whatever "it" is. Perhaps he will find it in the future. Maybe he stayed one year too long, but he loved the job and our school. Let's just wish him well...

why is it whenever someone criticizes PB's coaching job someone has to quickly post something about how nice of a guy he is? I get it. He's a nice guy. I'm interested in results on the football field. There are lots of "nice guys" out there - doesn't mean a whole lot in the football world.

I don't think PB is checking this board every day. It's not going to hurt his feelings.
