I haven't followed SMU's efforts much. However, I am curious about 3 TE's in the RIVAL's projections. I thought that position all but disappeared in the JJ scheme. Now, this kid at three stars, 1550 SAT, and his size looks like someone you would want regardless. Switched from Vandy. Has he, in fact, been offered? Any thoughts from you followers of the recruiting wars?

look on the "recruiting" board discussion. He has given his oral commitment to SMU per most recruiting services. Also look at the cover page of Mustang Maniacs.com, the Rivals SMU website for further discussions.

I think I got more excited about the SAT than I should have. Still living in the days of 1600 top score. Teacher wife tells me the top score is now 2400 and the test is taken with pictures and objects rather than having to read and cipher. 1550 is OK, but won't get you invited to Oxford - England, that is.

Switched from Vandy to SMU, and will play DE. Enormous frame will allow much more weight. Runs well, extermely strong.

Someone else on the board had mentioned that they don't factor in the new written portion of the SATs when discussing football recruiting. If that is the case, then 1550 is a great score as you originally thought.

He's being projected as a DE but I'll bet that JJ will take a look at him for an outside receiver position simply because JJ thinks offense first

If you get a chance on Rivals. View the vidoe of him as a DE. He clearly belongs there and would develop into and absolute monster.

I like the idea of playing him at DE, and given Coach Jones' fondness for small guys who can fly, I would think that Drewery, P. Fleming, Haynes and Burley would be almost too many big WRs for his liking. I know, not really - if he could find a 6-6 guy who runs like Davone Bess, of course he'd leave him at WR. But I would bet this guy is a DE all the way.
