I read this morning that a majority (57%) of 2007 college players signed by the NFL were recruited in college as 2 and 3 star players. Interesting.

With that in mind. Whatever happened to Cedric Benson of TU?
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I'm pretty sure its UT and c benz is fumbling every ten carries for my chicago bears. never take a running back in the first round. its not worth it. too much value at the position in the 3rd-6th rounds

TU has "always" been Texas University.

Rating kids coming out of high school has to be difficult at best. Many three and two star kids may be players that have not fully developed physically. Had they had another year in high school, nature may allow them to grow into a four or five star. It isn't hard to pick the Eric Dickersons of the world but it is much harder to find the Justin Rodgers, Mike Fords, Emmanuel Tolberts, and John Simmons in the high school world. Ranking is not necessarily a prediction of future success but rather an assessment of current capabilities as compared to the current peer group.

everybody and their grandma gets SIGNED to play in the NFL. Big Deal. There are only about 38 Five Stars and Thousands of 2 stars. You do the Math. The truth as that in the Top 3 rounds which I have studied and who are the guys most likely to make it there is a huge drop off in the % of players at each suceeding star level.

Also, it seems to me, that the rating services only rate players with notoriety. Small town players, those from weaker programs and from remote locations are often underrated or ignored.
Where oh where is Hayden Fry

agreed. adrian peterson was coming on stronger than benson by the time his season ended.

benson just couldnt stay away from that injury bug. had 2 decent games but the loss of Thomas Jones didnt elevate his game
