Our favorite Spanish "lecturer" speaks out about Alex OdiariModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Our favorite Spanish "lecturer" speaks out about Alex Odiarihttp://media.www.smudailycampus.com/media/storage/paper949/news/2008/02/08/Opinion/You-Just.Cant.Make.This.Stuff.Up-3197624.shtml
Our favorite Spanish lecturer decides to get personal about Odiari. George Henson is offically an [deleted] in my book. Taking shots at the program, fine. Taking shots at a 20ish year old kid trying to go to school and play football, unacceptable. George, you [deleted], I'm not a man because I'm not 40. But feel free to come after me. I'm much better equipped to defend myself against this crap than a college kid. Derail the Frogs!
Thanks for pointing this out. Apparently I overlooked this in the paper. Now on to my opinion...
WTF? Really? Does have ANY idea of how many kids on campus already are busted for alcohol and fake IDs? All you have to do is look in the police blotter in the same paper. One incident where TWO underage people we caught with alcohol. Another where a student assaulted his girlfriend. Perhaps we should kick all of them out of school. I would like to say that the girlfriend should get a free shot to kick that guy in the 'nads and then file a restraining order because I don't mean to minimize that incident at all. The comments at the end of the story express my opinion perfectly, particularly the second one.
Well, you'll have the haters but there are definitely those professors who appreciate the football team for who they are...although they may not necessarily go out and write it out loud for the public to see on the Daily Campus...
It appears that George Henson believes that if it is the law, then it is also moral and ethical.
This poor creature has so little depth of thought. First, if breaking a law is not just illegal but 'wrong' then a large segment of human history would have never changed. It was not only legal, but imperative that the citizens of Nazi Germany identify Jews and assist the authorities in the administration of the"Final Solution." Least we not forget, slavery in this country was legal until after the Civil War. Because it is legal, doesn't make it moral, ethical or right. A kid with a fake ID trying to get into a club is an unusual situation. It wasn't that long ago that kids could go to clubs at age 18. So a generation ago, what Odiari did was not only legal, but accepted by society. Now, because the Federal goobernment has given states the option of increasing the legal age of drinking or losing federal highway funds, we now have a different standard for legal drinking. And it has nothing to do with moral or ethical consumption of alcohol, but what is considered legal by the State. It has nothing to do with morals or ethics but money. So George has the usual lack of depth in his thought process and choices to show the entire world how superficial and shallow his thinking is. One can only pity this pathetic creature as life will never be enriching or fulfilling to one so limited. For him, he is depending on the goobernment and its changing standards as a moral compass and guiding principles to live his miserable life.
I must again take this opportunity to applaud the signing of our first "thug", a symbol of recruiting game being levelled finally.
Anybody else wondering why this gay man makes multiple referenced to Willis in his article, including one by his first name?
This article finally gave me the insight into his hatred for the football program. It was JWill's "fight" before the UTEP game. He's got to defend his brethren and JWill offended his sensibilities. Speaking of second chances... What a schmuck. I don't know how long his contract is, but surely we can let him go somewhere he is more appreciated and better paid. Of course he'd have to climb down off the cross he's nailed himself to in order to leave.

I agree with jtstang. In fact, I'd like to see one of our marketing themes next fall be " 'Hood on the Hilltop." Maybe a free ticket for a weapon promotion too.
Meanwhile, George is sounding like he's trying to bait Justin. Maybe a preemptive restraining order on JWill's behalf against senor Jorge is in order
I hope he doesn't have to take Spanish while he's at SMU. In fact, I hope none of the players have to deal with this loser in class.
Fantastic! ![]()
It's pretty apparent that Mr. Henson gets off on this type of reaction to his 'interest' in the football program. if he didn't have an audience, his performances would cease.
OR, if you're really feeling like a rebuttal to his soapboxing, how about a well thought out and well written article to the DC. Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
In his article, George notes:
"In fairness, the charge relating to the protection order was eventually dropped. But questions linger." What questions? By whom? When? While our criminal justice system is far from perfect, I still believe that at the end of the day, it works. If the emergency protective order was dropped, then it was dropped. Charges are easy to manufacture; proof of the charge must be required and apparently in this instance, there was insufficient proof. I would hope that a professor at our institution of higher learning would value the presumption of innocence and the value of due process, instead of smearing this young man by writing that unspecified questions continue to linger. /No Hate. Just Facts. Occasional sarcasm.
Say it so he will understand. Innocento untilo proveno guiltyo. Comprendo dumbo asso? All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Sir, shooting-star, sir.
Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
That's not what he said. He said that charges related to violating the protective order were dropped, not that the protective order was dropped. Our boy still has a protective order against him. Bring on more thugs and watch out UT!!!
