UNT picks HKS Inc. for new stadium
Dallas Business Journal
The University of North Texas' Board of Regents has selected HKS Inc. for the architecture and design of its new football stadium.
The new stadium will seat a minimum of 30,000 -- a number which could be expanded to 50,000, according to published reports. It will replace Fouts Field, across from the Mean Green Athletic Center.
HKS has offices in Dallas.

Because SMU has history with UNT - played as recently as 2006 and 2007.
Because SMU recruits against UNT - facilities are important recruiting tools.
Because UNT (or TCU) is the geographically closest D-1A football program to SMU.
Because UNT is showing desire to upgrade its football program...becoming a stronger competitor.

HKS does a lot of sports facilities... Reunion, AAC, Jerry World, FC Liverpool's new stadium, the list is endless. Still a bunch of tools though.
It's not like this is news... they hired the scumbags everyone else does.

Contrary to popular belief, architects have nothing to do with buildings actually standing up.

They just develop the pretty facade, space utilization and make sure ADA requirements are met...then the engineers take over and make sure the damn thing stands up, the electrical systems and the heating, mechanical and A/C systems are designed to work properly. Other than that, it's definitely the architect's fault.

Blogs got this right-they don't have the money or even a revenue stream to tap-even their realistic fans understand that. This will be a marketing blueprint/model which might be used to attract donations. But in reality-that stadium will not be built without the money.
