Don't see how this would be natural, other than the fact that their ex-coach is now ours. I don't think Houston is suddenly wanting to play Baylor?

We certainly aren't geographic rivals, lol

I think it would be a natural, at least for the next five years. Schedule it in late August (away) and it couldn't hurt recruiting.

We'd have nothing to gain by playing Hawaii, and everything to lose.

Hawaii will not draw ticket sales to Ford.

Refs in Hawaii are horribly biased.

If we beat Hawaii - so what. The knowledge of how horrible their facilities are and losing JJ will make it seam like we SHOULD beat them, despite the Sugar Bowl last year.

If we lose to them it will hurt JJ's credibility and momentum.

We must not play Hawaii.

play em in neutral site san diego. start a "blue water" "anchors away, run and shoot" rivarly series. more points than the navy has tomahawks. give cheap tix to the navy kids there and fill up the stadiium. ii'll polish up my surfboard.

It would be a big mistake to go to Hawaii. The jet lag would be murder both ways. Try playing the next game after the Hawaii game. The jet lag will get you at Hawaii and on the return to Dallas.

I would love a game at Hawaii. We have a great home field advantage on top of the jet lag.

A Hawaii game at Hawaii would be a waste of time.

Don't do it. 8)

I think it is a great idea to play Hawaii. Huge publicity for the game not only in Dallas and Hawaii, but National interest would be strong if promoted right. Sell it as a National TV deal to a network early in the season, and a Sure SELL OUT would not be bad either !.... BUT, we need to wait at least three years to get our program on sort of an even footing with them.....Big national interest will only help recruiting. As we improve, we need several rival games each year for sure.

Any coach in his right mind would never go to Hawaii. But JJ is not any coach. He loves Hawaii. He will retire in Hawaii. He will love to play a game or two in Hawaii.

Its a guarantee that JJ will schedule a game in Hawaii. It will be a great trip for all you SMU fans. You are going to love it. Hawaii is paradise.

Just ask JJ.

If you want national attention, play Texas at Texas. You will have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Losing to Texas is way better than losing to Hawaii. Losing close to Texas is way better than beating Hawaii. You will get more national respect.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see Hawaii play SMU. But I would also like to see SMU play Texas more. That is what they call BIG TIME! 8)

Yes. Absolutely no reason to play UH
