just an observation about the new coaching staff

Now that the staff is in place, it seems that there is a really good mix of coaches who have geographical recruiting ties.
More specifically I was thinking about Tam Hollinghead (who was the coach at Permian), new DC Tom Mason (who will have ties in California from his days at Fresno State), Dan Morrison (who is partly responsible for pulling Bo Levi and already has ties to 2009 QB Josh Nunes) and WR coach Jeff Reinebold (who was lauded as a major recruiting asset for UH).
IMHO, this just seems to further prove that Coach Jones gets it and should be trusted.
I'm looking forward to the 2008 season. The more I see from Coach, the morec excited I get.
I joined the Mustang Club today to show my support. As an alum and a former grad assistant in the athletic department, I felt like it was time for me to do my part to support the Mustangs.
Again, these are just my opinions.
Thanks.

I wonder if the person at (512) 867-5309 is mad at me

Come on now, I have increased my level 10% a year for the past 4 years. Instead of paying in 4 installments this year I paid in full when I heard about JJ

Good. Just checking. I'm working on the Morgan Campaign this year and trying to hustle it everywhere. I guess pf.com isn't really a good place to pick up people who are committed on every level to the program.

To answer your question, I actually called today and spoke to Debbie. I joined at the Colt Level for 2 reasons: I wanted to help the athletic programs (all of them, not just football) and I want to be part of what I feel is going to be a special time in SMU football.
I have been lurking on this forum ever since Coach Jones was hired, but I wanted to also start contributing here too.
Oh on a side note, I graduated from the Cox School of Busines in 1996. I worked for 5 years as a student assistant then grad assistant in the athletic recruiting office. I worked there from 1992-1997.
GO PONIES!

As you have seen lately quite a few new fans have started donating.

At Hawaii, JJ had a $50,000 recruiting budget. What a joke. Most of the recruiting was done by text message and DVD. He couldn't afford to hop on a plane to scout recruits.
Imagine what he can do with a REAL recruiting budget and drive and fly all over Texas and the rest of the USA. This is going to be real easy.
