he hasn't had time to go shopping. fine by me - he's been too busy working. as long as he's in his gear come gameday.

go buy him some shirts and courier them to his office. maybe he'll get the message.

I agree with the shopping point of view, but also aren't the Mav's colors blue and green?

OK, i'm the first to say, no leis, no red & blue hawaiian shirts, etc. but i'm willing to cut the guy some slack here. He's lived on the islands for 9 years now, and i'm fairly certain that over that time, he's built up a nice collection of green clothing in support of his school.

He doesn't strike me as the type that runs out to the store to change his wardrobe or even worry about appearances at all. the times I've met him, and seen him speak, he never has on a suit (other than presser when hired), or button up that isn't covered with a sweatshirt/windbreaker. I would rather him be in the office, or out on the recruiting trail.

in 4 weeks, he's had to hire a staff - from all over mind you, move from Hawaii, watch countless hours of film, recruit 28 guys to play here, make numerous public and private appearances.

Doesn't leave much time for shopping.
(but the school should have put a box full of everything in his size in his office when he got there).

He is getting paid $2 Million a year, he can afford a personal shopper. But I agree, he was at the Mavs game and green is one of their colors. (Much better than my Wizards colors with that barf bronze).

The green he has been wearing looks more like hunting jacket green or army fatigue green than Hawaii green...so lighten up folks.

who gives a rat's a$s? let him be our little green goblin coach for all i care if he wins. mike leach rides his bicycle drunk around Lubbock and they love him because he wins (i want to know your sources if you think Tech fans don't like him). JJ's eccentric, accept it and friggin' move on. bennett wore red and blue all the time, wanna go back to that crap?

we probably made the best coaching hire in the country and people whine about him wearing green. geesh. this stuff makes as cranky as George or stallion

Sorry, Alaric. I guess I'm not able to see the big picture like you, but I don't think it is asking too much for our new coach to wear SMU gear in public.....especially given the fact that SMU has been irrelevant in Dallas for the past 20 years. btw, he hasn’t won a single game at SMU yet.

Sorry about the rant. I think we signed on to have a coach who does stuff his way - not that it will be a bad way, just different.

His Wife's legs broken?

Hell, Brad Sutton should have at least handed him a polo shirt when he came on board.

The green gear surprises me a little because JJ was so instrumental in Hawaii's marketing, logo, and name changes. He is special because he understands the other aspects of the game not related to the play on the field.
