I know he was a very good HS baseball player at Denton Ryan. I think he did have a fastball clocked in the low 90's. That was three years ago and I doubt he has been playing much baseball but he could bring it.

Jones likes competition. Willis better worry about keeping his starting job. ie. Hanging on the the football.

Wow! 90 m.p.h.!
I do think that JW will rise to the occasion but he should be under no illusions that he is a show-in to start.
Are Bo Levi or Braden Smith his competition or will Logan Turner (or any other QB) be in the hunt for playing time?

I hope Willis moves to safety/receiver or transfer. I am so ready for the Phil Bennett era to be over--and he doesn't fit the scheme.

Not sure what you are smoking, but why would you want the QB with the most TDs in school history to move positions or transfer schools? I think you might need to take the Mc & 27 out of your name and just be Clown.

Yes, and Josh McCown isn't a QB either.

McClown strikes again!!!
Dudes his name says it all - I have never red a post from him that has been in anyway serious. I sometimes wonder if McClown27 is a second handle for some PF poster.
Again -- his name says it all. Just read what he says and laugh.... even if it's not funny.
I advise you to do the same with DanFrieburgerForHeisman's posts.

And... I didn't realize that Willis was an MLB prospect.

This entire situation rides on what Willis does. It is not his ability it is his dependability. One of those true freshmen will not be able to handle that job, especially without a spring. I see Willis, Turner and Rhoades competing this spring for the job. If Willis doesn't get the job, for whatever reason, I'd look for him to leave.

Willis problems were twofold. Lack of protection which caused him to try and do too much himself, and bad mechanics when running with the ball. If Jones can cure those two deficiencies in Justin, JW will light it up.

It is amazing to me that people on here are bashing the one player who was THE ENTIRE OFFENSE (and thus the entire team) last year. When you are the one making the play on almost every down you are going to have more mistakes than everyone else, even if you make them less frequently by %.

Nobody is "bashing" the Golden Boy. I have always liked Willis and think that he is a fine athlete. Yes he holds plenty of passing records and is a play maker. However, the new scheme will be one that is not "jail break left" "jail break right". Justin will need to be more disciplined and not so much of a gunslinger. If he is coachable, which I hope he is, he will do just fine. It's going to take a team to win. After all he's no V.Y.
