We will do at least twice as good as last year.

Hopefully 7 or 8 times better...

Playing Rice first actually helps Texas State a lot.
Rice is coached by former Bobcat coach David Bailiff. The current Texas State staff is very familiar with Bailiff's system and can watch how you guys attack it and how you react to it and that can help Texas State form a more cohesive game plan against you. I am sure that's what led to our success against Baylor last year, because Baylor played Rice the week before and that allowed our staff to see how Baylor reacted to the old Texas State system. We didn't win that game but stayed in it until the end and actually had a chance to win had we converted on a 4th down play late in the game. From my perspective that makes our game much more interesting.

What's y'alls plan on D to stop the old Hawai'i offense?

For that matter what's their plan on D to stop the old SMU offense...I don't believe we had a problem scoring on Tulane last year, just a problem stopping them from responding.

Will the guys you have at quarterback and receiver be able to run the old Hawaii offense? It's all new for both of us I would say. We have an experienced DC finally and are bringing in a lot of speed at defensive back. To be honest our defense is built to deal with conference opponents so it's better at stopping the run but every game plan is different. I am sure we will be able to keep up and there is plenty of film to study to come up with a good gameplan, not just the Rice game but also the Sugar Bowl. I think it's going to be a really good game and a great way for you guys to kick off he JJ era and Texas State to kick off the drive to move up to FBS.

With the prior staff I would guess 2-10 so anything better than that would be OK.

You are one of the most annoying posters on this site. I would rather beamout be here than you.
