SMU at Texas Tech, Sept. 13
Gear it up. June Jones and SMU will have a little bit of time to warm up the engines for a game that should be one of the biggest displays of offensive fireworks this season

depending on how well they pick up the offense this could be a very entertaining game....

At least with JJ here we have a chance to make this game a two-way track meet instead of the lopsided result of last year.

GO PONIES!!!

yea. if the SMU offense is clicking by then, then this could be one of those 48-42 games.

I don't expect us to win this game, but I do hope that we score at least 30+ on them. Given their defense is usually at the bottom of the Big 12, I'd say there is a chance for us to do that.

I just don't want us to get run out of the stadium like we have been the last few times we've been to Lubbock, and like we did last year at Ford.

SMU hasn't gotten within 40 points of Tech in years. No contest

Except for the Bennett/Leach shoving match game.

Uhh... just to be picky. We lost by 32 in 2006 and 14 in 2004.

I think the records show that we played Tech to with 10/11 point twice this decade.

In Lubbock of course....not so good, but we did keep within 32 of them in 2006.

Beat me to it!

I do think with a more fluent offense we can score some points on them which would change the complexion of the game totally. I remember TT has had some shoot outs with not great opposition (NMS?) and come out on the losing side.

I am an inveterate optimist though.

no willis would be mean and offense struggling to find its legs vs. Tech. sounds more like a blowout than a shootout to me.

If he is gone, you don't think our offense can find its legs during spring ball and summer practices and the first two games before Tech?

If that happens, there is no way we should be paying June $2 million/year.

The game will take 6 hours. There will probably be 100 points on the board at the buzzer.

Looking forward to it.

Let's just hope that 97 of that 100 aren't Tech's!
