Check out College Football Tab on ESPN. The question offers several new coaches and who will make the biggest impact on wins in 2008.
June Jones currently second behind Bo Pellini.

More interesting: Texas voters have picked Jones over Briles by almost a 10-1 margin.

Should be more lopsided than that, of course.

briles going to baylor is a recipe for a continued disaster, expect no results from that hire

Why do you feel that way? Just curious.

I actually think Guy Morris was a solid solid coach for Baylor and had their program going in the right direction until they ran out of QBs which has been unacceptable since their QB got hurt what 1 1/2 ago. But he coached some hard nosed football against better competition. That's about as tough as a job as you are going to find-although not as bad as Vandy or Duke. Its going to take a helluva a recruiter to get the job done at Baylor. Not coincidentally Baylor couldn't outrecruit a single Big 12 South team in any year since the formation of the Big 12 so its no surprise they have a long term lease on the cellar. Briles underachieved as a recruiter in my opinion at UH. I've always thought that UH is a sleeping giant for the right coach. That's a bad sign for Baylor. I expect to see Sumlin run circles around Briles in recruiting.

I can't even imagine the nightmare it must be to recruit to Waco. If ever there was a reason to employ payola...that has got to be recruiting to Waco...which, BTW, they obviously don't do.

I completely disagree. Art Briles is a proven coach. He will have BU winning again. He probably isn't going to lead them to a South title, but they will win 6 or 7 games a year again very soon.

June Jones is a very good coach too. His O may take a year or two to get established, so be patient with him. He will have SMU winning and winning soon. It just may take a season or two for the O to take hold.

Art Briles at Houston:

2003: 7-6
2004: 3-8
2005: 6-6
2006: 10-4
2007: 8-5

Good record, but in a much weaker conference than the Big 12. I don't really see how he is going to do much better than his predecessors, unless he has something special that we haven't seen yet.
