I will be attending SMU Dedman Law beginning in fall '08. My question is this: are law/grad students entitled to the same discounted football tickets available to undergrads? If so, can someone please fill me in on the info. regarding student tickets (i.e. how to get them, cost, etc.)? Thanks. I hope to be a pretty regular contributor here on ponyfans and I'm ready to see the Ponies return to glory with Coach Jones beginning in '08!

Thanks Bergermeister. It's good to be here and yes, the Tomato Bowl is still one of the coolest places in the state to watch high school football.

I'm sure when you pay your tuition you will notice some fees for student activities. These fees go to the program council and to the athletic department. At SMU, every student is a season ticket holder for every sport whether you want to be or not. I imagine our bowl game will cost more money, but there will be a student allotment for that. Show up to the stadium with your student ID and get in that easily. Pass your ID through the gate, and your buddy gets in that easily.

Sounds good Laxer, and believe me I won't mind paying a little extra if it means getting a chance to see the Ponies back in a bowl game. See y'all at Ford!

I used to get Student Tickets when I was a 2L, back then you just took your Student ID up to the ticket office and they gave you a free ticket.

So does this mean you never had time to go to the games as a 1L? Because that's kind of what I'm expecting. :?

well the last few years under PB they didnt even scan them...just glanced at the student id and you got a ticket. as long as you get a valid smu id you should be fine even if they do start scanning because they're expecting a bigger student turn out with jones.

When I was a grad student at Meadows, and had no car, I would spend the evenings taking in whatever sports was going on, free tickets every time. It was really fantastic and I am sad to see so many students not take advantage of it. When is the next time you will have free access to such great sports. One of the best soccer teams in the country, olympians swimming, D-1 basketball in Moody and Football at Ford. Seriously, they don't know how good they have it.

No, I spent my 1L year at George Washington before transferring.

MustangManiac06 welcome to Pony Fans! You have good timing. It looks like the Mustangs are about to make a big turn-around. The June Jones Air Show is about to begin. Be sure and attend the pre-game tailgate on Bishop Blvd. You are welcome to stop by our tent on "The Blvd" for a brat and a beverage.
