The NYT CFB blog is previewing the 120 D1A teams, one each day from now until the start of the season, going from worst to first.

SMU is up today at #107.

A good shout out to ponyfans.com. It also mention that Fry was being mentioned for the second time which leads me to believe that perhaps NTSU is ranked below us. I doubt that Iowa is.

That was probably one of the best pre-season reviews I have ever read...EVER...I haven't seen the DMN put something like this out and they are local...It took a guy from New York to lay it out right...This guy did his homework...Didn't use wrong names, old information, and actually had realistic expectations...Kudos to the NYT...They got a good one...

It's a pretty good synopsis of the upcoming season, the bulk of which everybody on this board already knows. I do think that his record predictions (3-9 or 4-8 for a dream season) are a little off. A record better than .500 would be a more realistic dream season for me.

The New York Times is able to do some good sports reporting since they pulled their top guys off of Hillary's campaign since she appears to be toast. They needed somewhere to go.

Notables below us:

110 - Marshall
112 - Baylor
113 - UAB

I'm assuming NTSU is higher due to their (even) weaker conference and the fact that they got 2 wins last year. I'm also going to gou out on a limb and assume the "Tide" related team at 106 is Tulane, not Alabama.

#112 Baylor was Fry's other mention.

while I think that 4-8 will be our record I definately don't think its best scenario. Best scenario 6-6.

I trust everyone realizes the best scenario is 13-0. How could a best scenario be anything else? Now realism is a totally different subject.
