Been researching EA Sports NCAA Football 2009. Looks like the SMU uniforms are the same as last year. It also sounds like they made some changes so that the bad teams actually stink. SMU among the lowest rated in the game.

Didn't play much '08, but '07 and before all had the same glaring errors - the computer never adjusted well to using a really fast QB and scrambling all the time, and it was always way too easy to recruit decently to horrible programs. Never really captured the massive uphill battle of non-BCS programs, especially when they suck.

I am a die hard NCAA Football video game fan and as of now the uniforms are the same. BUT, they could still make it into the game if they release them before Mid-June. Cincy's new unis made it in. I don't why we're taking so f-ing long to release them but hopefully they do it soon. But then again with today's video game technology, you might just be able to download them in an update patch or something shortly after the game comes out. And yes, the team is horrible. I think a 69 overal. Tied with UAB and another team as the 2nd worst in the conference. I think Tulsa and Rice....yes, Rice....we're the top ranked teams with a mid 70s ranking. How is Rice that f-ing good?! But for those that don't know, the game will be a lot of fun so get it! Comes out July 15th.

The school is waiting until the middle of summer when there isn't a great deal being mentioned about SMU athletics, or football. Take advantage of the dead period before August practices start, and generate some enthusiasm and excitement among the fan base and community. They will be released in mid to late July, for only the umpteenth time, not before then, and not after then. It will be an event open to the SMU community at Ford Stadium, where they will showcase the new uniforms.

Thereby missing out on one of the best branding opportunities for an otherwise nondescript program such as ours. People don't give enough credit to the EA sports franchise. While I can't recall most of the organic chemistry equations from undergrad, I can remember the starting lines from most NHL teams in the early 90s. And I still have the Hartford Whalers jersey I bought because I thought it looked cool.

My guess is most college students these days are the same way.

Simple solution: Give EA Sports a copy of the new uniforms prior to their release, so that they can be included in the game. Then have the media event about a week before release of the game, making special note that the new unis will be included in the game. The promise of this publicity should be enough for EA Sports to keep the uniforms under wraps until we have our event.

Edit: Plus, if we wait until after the new game is released, we lose out on some of the football-starved audience this timing is supposed to be catered to. They'll be playing the game instead of paying attention to new uniform releases.

good idea but there's no way they would do this.

Looks a lot better than our real blue helmets looked - the lighter blue is nice. Interesting that it isn't the same blue we used previously. Maybe they are going to different home/away helmets, like Hawaii used once?

Hawaii revealed its new uniforms on March 6...and apparently EA is STILL going to be using the old uniforms in the upcoming NCAA Football game.

Looks like JW is not on the game for now. That sucks. Also, maybe that is another reason we are not rated very good.......that, plus we only won one game last year.

That's not the same Mustang that we use on the "real" helmets - did you notice?

Yeah, wrong Mustang on the helmets. The obviously don't care about our uniforms.

you're right. The real Mustang's ear is bigger.
