Rivals did power rankings of the best players at each position fpr the upcoming college football season and Morstead was listed under the top special teams players. Pretty cool.[/img]

That is cool, although it says he weighs 190. When was that, 10th grade?

I'd say he's at least 215. He's a big dude

In the spring he was between 235 and 240.
Watch him run hills in his lead vest  it reminds the rest of us just how lazy we all really are.
Here's to Morstead winning the Ray Guy Award this year!

Morestead may not get much playing time, though. Remember JJ's comment during the DMN online chat? "I don't think about punting."
Congrats to Morstead!

Glad to see this. Thomas Morstead is a class act - as I posted on here once before, he instantly became my 4-year old's favorite player when he (along with Andrew Galloway) took the the time to show him his football helmet and give him a football during spring practice.
No one is pulling harder than I am to see him playing on Sundays. JJ may not think about punting (and that's good), but there's definitely a reason he doesn't have to worry about it....and that's #15.

Still doesn't change the fact that he's one of our best players.

No argument there, my friend! Glad he's a Mustang!

I would expect the offense to struggle to get in sync, especially early in the season, so Morestead will be very important to your team. JJ had a good punter fairly early on during his tenure at Hawaii...and Mat McBriar is now entering his fifth season as the punter for the Cowboys.

Congrats to Morstead!
He also kicks extra points. Hopefully he will get a lot of playing time.

Perhaps that means he will not be kicking in shorter yardage situations and thus may be able to break that YPK record.

Very true...I had never even thought about the fact that he played under JJ. As good as Morstead is, I wouldn't mind JJ introducing him to McBriar to push that net average a little higher on his punts.

Morstead is the best player on the team, if we are going by who has a chance to play on Sunday. Actually, nevermind that...he's just our best player period.

No JJ in the top 25 coaches? Petrino who has been out of college coaching made the Top 25.
