Watching Northern Illinoisknock off #15 Maryland tonight, sorry, hard to stayed glued to the riveting "wac bros" La Tech v. Miami game....I had to wonder...when was the last time SMU beat a ranked team? I think it was '86 v. Baylor, who was #13 or 15...is that right? Yea, I know Stallion, that was over 17 years ago...enlighten me..Long Live Brad Peveto.
Re: Watching Northern Illinoiswhat was enlightenly about this game was that this is the mid-american conference knocking off the acc & all their summer glory!!!!!!!!
in fact - i think we're going to have quite a few games like this - this yr!!!! kick the bcs-bs in the teeeeeeeeeeth!!!!! BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: Watching Northern IllinoisHixson, you suck at life.
Re: Watching Northern Illinois..the "old name calling retort", how impressive and intellectually stimulating..come in from out of the sun, UNFGSTGStang45...Long Live Bobby Leach.
Re: Watching Northern IllinoisI think A&M was top 10 when we tied them at the Alamodome. Not a win, but its no frickin newsflash that we haven't had success since the DP.
Re: Watching Northern IllinoisI think A&M was #4 or so when we tied them. And, yeah, it wasn't a win, but it was still named Sports Illustrated's upset of the year in college football in 1994.
Re: Watching Northern IllinoisWe should have beaten A&M that day. The tie was robbery.
And, as a Maryland fan, last night was painful. Keep me away from high bridges. That was embarrassing.
Re: Watching Northern IllinoisWe came very close to beating #23 BYU in 1997.
