I think Orsini has done a great job and it will be very hard to replace him. But, I like most of us believe he will accept the ND job if it is offered. The writer in the link above gives him a strong endorsement. I hope the ND President isn't thinking like this guy.

If Steve Orsini bails, we need to let him hire his replacement on his way out the door. I think he, more than anyone, knows what SMU needs to keep making progress (not a committee, not a coach, not a boo$ter, not a president). And, he knows who is out there. We couldn't afford to make a mistake in hiring the "wrong" AD.

There needs to be a search committee. That search committee needs to consist of the following:
Ford
Sewell
a Brookshire
Orsini
Jones
Doherty
Hyndman

Isn't Hyndman interviewing with FC Dallas?

Who was ultimately responsible for bringing Orsini over from Central Florida? Was it Turner?

I may be way off since I have never been involved directly in an AD hiring but I can not imagine having people who would report to the AD being on a search committee. If I am a candidate I do not want my subordinates grilling me as to whether or not I am qualified to be their boss. I think Turner and the Trustees could handle the hire.

agreed mrydel
and if ND hires the Mob Boss
there is no way Orsini would be on the SMU search committee
if ND hires him he is gone
lets pray the 1-11 football season last year & poor basketball season
will cause ND power players to think it would be a risky move on their part

If he goes, maybe we can use a copy of the ND list and work from there. I would not mind the Tulsa AD.

This is a program that has hired the Canadian ambassador to Ireland (with no athletics department experience) as their AD before. Orsini would not be nearly as risky as that.

But then again, when was the last time you heard anything negative about a Candian Ambassador to Ireland. Always a safe hire.

Former Hawaii AD is looking for a job.

One problem with that:

Edit: I had another image in which Willingham had the exact same expression as Frazier does...but it didn't work, so I had to go with the next best picture.
