Alcohohlism is an illness and he probably legitimately should be steerd into treatment.

If you know anything about this disease you will recognize this quote:

"He doesn't feel like he was intoxicated," Bassett said. "He said he had two or three drinks the whole night with dinner."

However, to continue with the wacky Texas ex-running back theme, who do you think is the bigger goofball, "Captain of the ship" Cedric Benson or Ricky "Up in Smoke" Williams ?

They both have been arrested multiple times right?

I tend to think Benson may have more of the thug factor.

Ricky Williams is just a pot head.

Bears cut Cedric Benson yesterday. They gve him the benefit of the doubt on the Lake Travis problem, but the latest one broke the camel's back.

Benson hasn't been that effective for the Bears. This was a good opportunity for the Bears to cut down in the payroll and make room for a more productive back. Benson will land somewhere else (why do the Raiders come to mind).

After drafting McFadden? Why would they waste money on this guy?

Paladin is right - addiction is not to be taken lightly, and it can be both sad and scary for those who suffer from it and those around addicts. But his "two or three drinks with dinner" comment sounds like spin control, if you ask me.

Sounds like a Jerry Jones guy. Think Benson and Pacman could make it rain?

Not after drafting Felix Jones. Pacman has some upside as a player, as did Tank and TO. Benson is a spare at best.

He could very well have only had two or three drinks with dinner.

They could have been 151 body shots.
