My two sons just told me yesterday that they were combining my Father's Day and Birthday present. They have bought airline tickets, game tickets, and made hotel reservations for the night of the Texas Tech game. Five of us are flying out Saturday morning and coming back Sunday. Since both of them read this board, wanted to say thanks again. I raised you right!!!

Anybody know the record for the longest game in SMU or NCAA history? Between Tech and SMU, I am thinking this will be a long one. Clock will stop after almost every play.

Then Mathman is getting an even better present. Whatever chance SMU has in this game will come from it being a shoot-out. Tech has been pushed to the limit in recent years by teams that on paper it should hammer, but the offenses just kept scoring....

I'd LOVE it if we hand it to them.

not to mention that Arkansas has played a 7 overtime game (the longest in NCAA History) against Tennessee a few years ago and of course went multiple OTs with LSU last year.

They also went at least 6 with Ole Miss a few years back.

I think it was the last game we played in Lubbock. Seemed like it from the stands anyway.

Hopefully things will be better this year.

Stallion has got his facts wrong...

Arkansas lost to Tennessee in 2002 in 6 OTs, 41-38
They have also won two 7 OT games:
2001 vs. Ole Miss (58-56)
2003 vs. Kentucky (71-63)

The 2003 game vs. Kentucky lasted 4 hours and 56 minutes. FWIW, ESPN called that game the "longest in NCAA history" upon its completion. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=233050096

It also had to be the coldest August game in NCAA history...that was just a bad deal all the way around.

I'd like to point out that we were winning that game for the first five minutes. I still have a 3-0 scoreboard picture on my cell phone.

Go Ponies. Beat Tech.

No problem Pops. We'll just have to keep the younger one off the sauce.
