The neighborhood

How many fans from the neighborhood come to the games? I was working with a client earlier this week who works in Big D and lives in the Park. The conversation got around to SMU football (thanks to me -- the New Yorker) and all the other guy could talk about was how expensive the land is where Ford Stadium now resides. Who gives a flip about that?
I wanted to talk about SMU football. This guy could talk about the Westminster dog show, Europe, the Olympics, etc. but he didn't know much his neighborhood Div. I school. Another guy mentioned that someone wanted to meet him for tennis and the next thing he knew, he was on the SMU campus. Everyone likes to make fun of the residents of the Park (e.g., leopard print pants and pumps) but more people just need to get out and sit back and enjoy some football.
Well, I can't say that many from UH's neighborhood make it to the games, but that's likely due to the polar opposite reason that Park residents don't come.
BTW, how much do you think the campus makeup has changed over the last 20 years? Is the yuppy convertible BMW set still prevalent or is it more a minority now?
