junk. I tired of people foaming at the mouth because Keith Whitmire picks us to beat tech..I'm tired of some yo-yo jumping on me for watching Maryland/No. Ill. v. my "WAC bros" play Miami...LaTech / BSU / FSU are NOT my "bros"..my bros, our BROS, are Texas / A$M / tech / add-ran u. and THANK the Lord we are at LEAST playing tech & Baylor this season / YEAH!!! I'm tired of being told "next year"...I'm tired of us "anointing" some mediocore player as lord J...I'm tired of losing...and I KNOW you are too..I'm tired of trying to get pumped up for a WAC schedule...I want to beat someone, NOW!!...Who is Memphis Mustang, btw??...I DO get pumped about swimming / golf / track and soccer...I LOVE the Mustang Band..I'm reading Dan Jenkins Doak book to my grandson...I've got a cat named Dandy and a dog named Kyle...I BLEED Red and BLUe, but, seriously folks, this Sister Mary Sunshine board drives me NUTS, but, it's ALL I got..we NEED some reality..some fire...some CHANGES...I get BBQ'd when I "toungue and cheek" give people on this board heck or a hard time, what else should I do, talk about our punting game?? This IS NOT strictly a "news forum / info exchange" as someone said, this is whatever in the heck we / you / I decide it is....I give to the Mustang Club, when I lived in Dallas (I'm now in Birmingham), I had season tickets to EVERYTHING (you are welcome, Rhonda..) and was the only bozo at the tennis matches and women's golf practices..I raised money for the Mustang Club..so, kiss my Back Side, I think we NEED more fans like ME, who are tired of being sick and tired....Long Live Jack Gunlock..and btw, the MTV Awards is what's WRONG with this country...

you're a loyal fan, but i have to disagree with you about the bros thing, again. i was never bashing you for watching the other game. niu is just as much an underdog as latech was. but i guess i give precedent to the wac teams because i want to see our conference gain some respect and recognition.

WAC teams are our "bros" as all the non-bcs teams are. no way in hell are the horns, aggies, or raiders my "bros." once the cartel is destroyed, the big 12 and former bcs teams can fall into an abyss for all i care.

I support every word of what you've got to say in that post, Hixson, and thank you for supporting the Mustangs through thick and thin. This comes from the perspective of someone accused of being the biggest sunshine-blower there is.

Let me say this. We cannot be content with where we are, it is true. But kneejerk, drumbeat negativity doesn't help us get back. I hope you have it out of your system now and can show some support again.

Right on HixontoLevias! I'm with you man! This is the sunshine board. We need more fans and alums like you who will except nothing less than excellence for SMU football.

Hix... yes, I too am tied of losing, and believe most die hard fans of SMU are too. Yes, this may be a "sunshine" board, but it sure beats standing in the rain all of the time. You want to hang on the darker side, hang with some of the folks on the other board.

People give Stallion crap, myself too at times, but the guy had been a fan thick and thin. He is also well informed. Myself, I'm a Mustang Club member. My son's middle name is WALKER. Was a past pres. of a LASR group. (Try recruiting kids to SMU from the Los Angeles area post DP like I did.)

I'm no big fan of being in the WAC, but it is where we are for now. Until things change, we have to deal with it. Having lived in CA, I kinda dug it because it meant I got to see my Mustangs in Fresno or San Jose or Reno. I was there when we played ucla. I was horse for two days after the game. I agree though that it would be nice to play other texas teams, but I do dislike what has become of the SWC, and what ut and a$m did to help crush us.

Like Stallion and others have mentioned though, SMU has to decide to step it up, which means the administration and faculty have to give our programs the tools to compete. We got a great stadium, Bennett, and a TON of history. Let's get it on. SMU is a solid school. It is in a good city. But for now, we have to beat fresno, sjsu, hawaii, nevada, as well as try to get more involvement in texas. Beat tick, beat the little bears!
