Should be a priority -- recognition of the history of the time/nation and of a MAN who had to use a lot more than just his athletic strengths to compete at the time. A true American and SMU hero.

I'd like to see the area above the hill become a sort of Monument Park, if you will. The Peruna monument is already over there. If we ever need that room for expansion, we can relocate Monument Park somewhere else.

Also, why do we not recognize our National Championship(s) anywhere inside the stadium?
We have football history, and need to promote it.

Nice idea; however, someone somewhere will be against moving the "Monument Park". Good idea -- better to have it away from an obvious future expansion.

You could make a strong case for it. We could thank Hayden Fry too.

It would be a good way to help recruit black athletes who might be weary of going to a school with such a small black presence.

Disagree -- In no way should be used for any gain.
We simply need to recognize an SMU athlete/alum who was tested more than most and was able to excel among the highest of athletes and the lowest actions of mankind.

Would love to see him honored.
His number should be retired, too.

Jerry LeVias is my HERO. No. 23 is my favorite number because of LeVias and Gene Phillips.

The National Championships are recognized in the atrium leading into Heritage Hall. There is a huge banner honoring each of the six with pictures of team members on the banners.

I know about that...I'm talking about having a small recognition sign actually within the stadium (that people can see as they are watching the game).
