Phil gave one of the toughest jobs in college FB, SMU, all he had for six years, I wish him all the best. Go Panthers Defense!

That picture is from the Rice game in 2006, that's exactly how I felt after the game. June Jones is here!

Fear the mob boss!

While rebuilding the program at SMU, Bennett improved the Mustangs' win total for three consecutive seasons, including his 2006 team that reached bowl eligibility and achieved the program's highest victory total in a decade. That squad also received the American Football Coaches Association's (AFCA) 2006 Academic Achievement Award after SMU earned a 100% graduation rate for its freshman class of 2000-01.

That's some amazing spin.

Best of luck, Coach Bennett - I'll be cheering from your team and cheering for your son's team. Give 'em hell.

I snorted when I saw that picture.... just glad I wasn't consuming milk... or any other beverage for that matter. Nicely played.

Is the pic on the Pitt website the same headshot he had on smumustangs.com?

I guess that's common on college campuses. I had a teacher in undergrad that used the same picture for like 10 years after I graduated, and it was already dated when I hit campus.

I think $3 million dollars and this sticker is thanks enough (and very generous mind you). No need to eulogize him on ponyfans.com, he doesn't frequent this site, and no reason to praise efforts that weren't praiseworthy. Please, please, please lets move on. If you were friends with Phil, write him your well wishes. If not, let...him...go...

I wish PB the best. He certainly gave everything he had. No need to kick the guy now that he is gone. I will be rooting for Pitt.
