Yeah, I got to agree with you 100% ... Who else could it be? Either our big name coaches were better known with other schools, or have been forgotten by all but the historians. If, say, Forrest Gregg had successfully brought back the Stangs from the DP, then maybe. Dickerson has the taint of the dirty program, and also had Craig James at the same time. Dandy Don is more associated with the Pokes.... it has to be the Doaker.

I would be shocked if it isn't DP related. Most of the people in the ESPN demographic have never heard of Doak and don't associate ED with SMU.

Well, if you're right it won't be Meyer because his defining moment was having the ex-con snowplow a clearing for a FG in Foxboro. How 'bout the Gov?
