Not sure if anyone posted this already or not. What does this make the total C-USA bowl tie ins up to?

The Dust Bowl?
If they ever put a bowl game in Lubbock or Oklahoma, they had better call it the Dust Bowl.

Enough that it is beyond pathetic that we haven't made a single one in the modern bowl era.

I thought we already had a tie-in with the Texas Bowl.

It was only an every-other-year tie-in. The Big Least has now backed out of their tie-in, giving us an annual tie-in for the two years remaining on the current bowl contract.

that gives us six EVERY year. Good. Whatever happened with those new bowls? Was there a chance for a tie-in there?

This is positive for a number of reasons. It means the organizers of the Texas Bowl think CUSA teams will do better at producing crowds than the BE and will produce decent ratings. It also means that the MWC did not poach. I'm happy to hear this news. Its good for CUSA which means its good for SMU. Remember, we get bowl money whether we go or not.
