my logic being that if we are bowling, we are consistently doing well and therefore are able to attract (hopefully) better recruits than now

and screw TCU

If we could sell our souls to TCU to go bowling every year for the next 20 years, I would do it in a minute. How much national attention do you get from losing to TCU versus going to a bowl every year?

It depends. If we lose to TCU every year, but still go to the national championship with one win every year, I'll take that.

We kept TCU out of serious bowl contention in 2006...

Which was, unfortunately, the only cool thing SMU football's done with the frogs in a looong time.

my typical bowling score is about 150 range, so i hardly ever win.

Everybody that went to the TCU game last year know we could have won that game. TCU cannot throw the football and PB will eat you up if you cannot throw. Our O sucked to the point of being embarrassing. If we do not address our linemen issues both on O and D we will continue to be beaten. Hawaii found that out against Georgia. Hawaii played in a weak conference as well. They we the Tulsa of their conference the last two years. Remember we beat Tulsa two seasons ago.
