The 1980 Texas game is now available on DVD.

If you know anyone who was a freshman in 1964 we have just found a color film of the first half of the 1964 football game with the Texas Shorthorns. Just have them email me at [email protected]. We also found the full 1954 freshman game with the Baylor Cubs in color.

I invite you to look at the first page of football pictures to view an unbelievable discovery. The picture shows Coach Ray Morrison and Coach Jimmy Stewart and our All America Bobby Wilson with our 1935 National Championship Trophies. Don't forget you can order pictures like this that are suitable for framing.

We are now in the process of reviewing reels that we really don't now what is in the container. I opened one last week marked "Lettermen." When we put it on the projector it started out saying it was the 1956 NCAA Regional Basketball game with the University of Houston in Lawrence, Kansas. After about 30-45 seconds of highlights it jumped to highlights of the 1957 NCAA game with Kansas and Wilt Chamberlain. There are 19 highlights including highlights of two individuals, Gene Phillips and Ira Terrell. Included is the controversial loss to A&M in 1958 on a goaltending call that kept us from winning the SWC outright. Also included is the Jan Loudermilk years, the Holman, Beasleyand Begert years, and finishes with the NCAA games with Miami of Ohio and Georgetown. It clearly shows Koncak dunking over Ewing. And yes, there was an unbelievable spin move from Carl Wright.

It is not listed yet but just let know if you are interested in ordering one.

We are adding pictures and games weekly so keep checking at

If anyone on the board knows anyone with the Kato Armstrong/Carl Wright era game at Moody vs. Louisville that was televised, please chime in.

50's Pony: Thanks for these updates and thanks for saving this material and making it available to the public.

I have a friend that has several film reels of Humble SWC highlights, one of them from 1966. Would the folks at SMU be interested in them?

Thanks for the offer but we have a deal with The Texas Sports Hall of Fame (which now owns the rights to those highlights) that we will not reporoduce them. In fact, if you will click on the SWC Logo at the bottom of our home page you can order any they offer direct. We are working closely with the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and will be involved in the planning of the SMU space in the new wing they are building.

By the way, where is the Texas Sports Hall of Fame located? Isn't it a museum?

There was something in Waco years ago (I believe in the early 80's when I visited it). Is that it?

Is the Heritage Halls web site (where you buy the DVDs etc.) located at smumustangs.com?

Thx in adv.

It's right off I 35 on the Baylor campus. Great place, superb displays. I've been to several state sports halls and Texas' is the best. Looking forward to seeing the new SWC wing.

If you haven't been, go.
