apparently, FSN had the highlites from the 1966 SMU SWC Championship season on last nite. I've seen reports on SMU's 13-12 last second victory over UT on Dennis Partee's FG and a report on the come from behind 24-22 victory over Baylor. Darn.

That show is awesome, I catch it whenever I can but missed it last night.

Good times of a simpler era. The only thing anyone cared about back then was making it to the Cotton Bowl, that was the Holy Grail, any national championship was just icing on the cake....a Cotton Bowl berth was the main prize that everyone shot for.

Watched it. Great.

Remember that these are truncated versions of the wonderful COLOR Humble Oil SWC film series which goes all the way back to the 1948 season. You can buy the full versions by going to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame website.

Does anyone remember back in the 70s (maybe even in 60s) and possibly early 80s when one of the Fair Park buildings had a little theater that showed SWC highlights from the previous year. Was always a highlight of the State Fair for me, me and my dad would sit in there and watch it a 2 or 3 times back to back.

Are these the same films that they have at the Hall of Fame?

It was always one of my first stops when I went to the fair. Miss those days.

Perfect! right after the Rangers game is done, can watch the Rangers kick some Yankee butt, then see SMU kick some SWC butt!

should be on next after Ranger highlite show-getting a look at Jerry LeVias and/or hearing the legendary Kern Tipps should be worth it.

Tivo'ed the '66 show...kinda weird seeing a Mustang wearing '37' and it's not the Doaker! #37 - D.J. Moore

Loved watching the Mustangs defeat the 'Horns in Austin again! :) I was there.

My game number was 39 but as a freshman, my practice jersey was 37. Sleepy Morgan always referred to me as "The Doaker".
