This from scout:

Part 2 of the Big annoucement

PonyStampede in conjunction with several other media outlets will be doing a weekly radio show on KVCE AM 1160 on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m to 8 p.m.

We are hoping to officially announce the location for the live show sometime later this evening.

During the show we will discuss the past game, upcoming game, recruiting, and practice analysis. Dave Michaels will host the show, along with yours truly as one of the team experts along with the beat writer from the Dallas Morning News and other media personalities to be annouced at a later time.

We are in search of eight sponsors for the show, we have already sold four spots and have four left. If you own a business or know a SMU business owner that wants to be a part of this great show. If your're interested please email me at [email protected]

This is great additional publicity for the program. I wonder if Orsini had a hand in getting an active scout site. They are promising "five stories a day from July 1 headed into camp."

PonyStampede has made this one of the more interesting and informative off-seasons. All you guys that [deleted] about the DMN-just drop your subscriptions and get PonyStampede. We've finally got a source that covers SMU day-to-day-and we should support it. Really looking forward to the camp reports to see which young players are making a move. Generally, we get about two sentences about this from the DMN and really have no idea who might surprise on the opening day lineup.

Agree completely. I got an annual membership a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Finally something with some information about SMU on it that isn't a month old like Rivals

From what I understand 1160 AM is also the most powerful jazz station in the US of A with a range of 23 feet.

Nevermind...after going to the station's website I doubt music of any kind (particularly jazz or anything else inspired by the devil/liberals) is allowed anywhere near 1160 AM.

Couldn't we get something on the Ticket? I mean, the Hardline is absolutely terrible and they get 4 hours a day.

this will be an unaffiliated radio show-so SMU might have something else planned for the Ticket. SMU can not be involved with a show put on by a recruiting service.

[deleted] [deleted]....why don't you pay for the time on the ticket

This is good news but it would have been nice to get some time on The Ticket.

TCU has several shows on ESPN 103.3. I don't think it's asking too much to be on something other than some random conservative talk AM station that 99% of people in Dallas have never heard of.

Our games are on the Ticket, I think we should at least have SOME other coverage, including an hour or so with JJ or Doh.

Thanks, Stallion - I get it.

Put together by multiple media outlets.

And no, Steve-O had nothing to do with it.

TCU won more than one game last year, and you can sometimes see people wearing TCU gear farther than 1 mile outside their campus. One step at a time guys. I'm one of the most cynical people there are, but damn, stop [deleted] so much!

Thanks for the good news couch'em. I'm sure once scout.com gets it's membership up for the SMU site they might be able to afford going to larger station. Right now they are probably just trying to take one step at a time. At any rate this is good news.

Yeah, but they really shouldn't. That shade of purple is truly hideous.

Maybe they're looking forward to the camp reports, too, so they can invest in a roster. On their enlightening list of players who showed up Sunday, they managed to misspell many of the names, including: EKOLU Soon, Evan HUAHULU and RYAN (Brian?) Smith. It's a minor detail to some, maybe, but not to the players and their families. Cranking out text just for the sake of quantity doesn't exactly constitute "coverage." Their "coverage" is clear-cut quantity-over-quality (and besides, any news they "break" - six months before signing day - gets discussed here, anyway) and DMN's is minimal. PonyFans.com is thorough and very well done. PonyFans.com is the only site I need, and the only site anyone needs.

If you want to wait another 8 months for a "thourough" report by Ponyfans on SMU recruiting then be my guess-otherwise, the quality of the information is strictly because of the posters not the site. PonyStampede is the only site that beaks stories on SMU sports and should be supported if we want to keep getting that type of information. Further, I guarantee you those relying on an SMU source for all their recruiting news w/o getting perspective in how SMU is recruiting in relation to their opponents will be "dangerously and habitually" uninformed as has been shown over and over for the last 20 years.
